New User Guide

Thank You For Joining CMMC Space!

Now that your CMMC Space and Google Workspace accounts have been provisioned, let’s walk through setting up your account and accessing your CMMC Space.

Not a customer yet? Let’s fix that!

Accessing & Protecting Your Account

Protecting Your Account With Multi-factor Authentication

Navigating
CMMC Space

Don’t share your password!

Now Let’s Log In

Your organization should have provided you with a URL to your secure environment (e.g., atxdefense.cmmc.space). Enter this URL into your browser of choice.

From here, you’ll select “Log in with Google (Your Organization’s Name).” You don’t need to worry about entering an Email or a Password into the fields above.

You should then be prompted to select a Google account. Be sure you select your new secure account. If you did not previously reset your password, CMMC Space may try to log in under your current Google account (if you have one). If this occurs, reset your password or try logging in via an Incognito tab.

Once you’ve properly authenticated, you’ll see a Chrome browser icon. Click the icon and select “Launch Session.”

Depending on how recently someone in your organization logged on, it may take a moment for the environment to compile.

Once you’ve successfully logged into your team’s CMMC Space, you’ll see the CMMC Space Homepage. You can use the Quick Access buttons on the right to access your Gmail, Drive, or Calendar.

Scrolling down, you’ll also find links to required training materials and a portal containing the most up-to-date policy documents.

Navigating within CMMC Space is as easy as using any modern browser because it is one! Simply click the internal address bar, enter the URL you want to visit, and press enter.

We also recommend logging into the internal Chrome Browser with your secure account. This will ensure any bookmarks you save will remain - session to session.

Once your work is complete or you need to step away, open the control panel widget on the left of the screen (this is also where you’ll be able to enable your webcam and microphone).

From here, select log out (if you intend to return soon) or delete session (to terminate the current session).

Don’t worry, though! Any information you’ve saved to your Google Drive will be there when you return.

Once your organization has provided ATX Defense with a list of authorized users, a secure account will be created for you.

You’ll receive an email from Google, prompting you to login and create a new password for this account.

The first time you reset your new account’s password, you can do so from outside of the environment. If you need a password reset or did not receive the password reset email, please contact ATX Defense.

Note: It is important to reset your password before logging into CMMC Space. This will prevent CMMC Space from trying to log you into your unsecure Google account.

Your username for this account may differ from your non-secure account, depending on your organization’s choice of domain name.

You’ll need to activate MFA on your new secure account within a week. This can be done by using the following steps:

  1. Visiting myaccount.google.com

  2. Select “Security” on the left pane

  3. Select “2-Step Verification is off”

  4. Enter your password if prompted

  5. Set up your method of authentication

Note: SMS as a means of authentication is disabled for security purposes. ATX Defense recommends Google Authenticator.

End-User Training

Before your organization undergoes your C3PAO assessment, you’ll also need to complete annual training. This is to satisfy several specific CMMC objectives:

  • NIST SP 800-171, AT.L2-3.2.1 (Role-Based Risk Awareness) (a) (b) (c) (d)

  • NIST SP 800-171, AT.L2-3.2.2 (Role-Based Training) (a) (b) (c)

  • NIST SP 800-171, AT.L2-3.2.3 (Insider Threat Awareness) (a) (b)

ATX Defense recommends the following free training courses:

These aren’t required to provision your account, but you’ll need to do these annually in order to meet CMMC requirements.

Please let us know if you have any questions or experience any issues while using CMMC Space.
